The Greater Charlotte ILEA Chapter offers monthly program meetings which are open to our members and potential member guests in the events industry. The emphasis of our programs combines education, sharing new items of interest and business/social networking. The format of our educational programs may include a keynote speaker, a panel of experts, a workshop or an interactive learning experience. Topics range from personal development to business interests to industry-specific subjects. Also, to add value for our chapter members, we always spotlight various member businesses and talents such as venues, caterers and décor. Whether it’s learning about insurance coverage, a new venue, current industry trends or improving presentation skills, our goal for our members is to always leave a program with a greater understanding of the topic and new resources.
Quest For The Crown
The Charlotte Chapter of the International Live Events Association (ILEA) set the date for our annual awards ceremony to take place in April 2018. For 15 years, this awards ceremony was known as the EVIEs, or Events in Excellence, and was open to ILEA Members and Non-Members alike.
In 2015, the ILEA board decided to give the EVIEs a facelift. With the help of Deb Hall at Olive Paper, we re-branded the event as the Crown Jewel Awards. Many of the categories for the award entries will remain the same and will be based off the highly contested International Esprit awards, but the goal is all encompassing:
The Crown Jewel Awards competition was created for the Creative Events and Hospitality professionals of the Carolinas, giving other association members a platform to get recognized for their work in their industries. All hospitality professionals can enter the awards competition and attend the Charlotte-based ceremony and gala in April. The awards will be anonymously judged by another ILEA Chapter located outside of North and South Carolina.
